Building community, visibility, and opportunity for Black artists across Washtenaw County
In 2026, a group of Washtennaw County-area Black artists, creatives, and cultural organizers came together with a shared vision of building stronger connections through art, community, and collaboration. Rooted in a desire to support Black artists across disciplines, the collective was formed as a space for creative exchange, community engagement, cultural preservation, and mutual support.
What began as a conversation among local artists and art advocates continues to grow into a community-centered initiative focused on visibility, opportunity, education, and collective growth throughout Washtenaw County and surrounding areas.
